Geier-Markel Design was founded in Los Angeles, California. With a keen focus on exceptional interior design, while also providing an affordable service for everyone. From those who are just dipping their toe into the interior design process, to clients with prior experience.
Over the years we’ve worked with families, vendors and creatives from coast to coast. Our work includes planning and design of the space, selection of finishes, furnishings, lighting, textiles, and custom pieces, all carefully selected and clearly detailed.
When required, we provide and collaborate with full architectural and construction teams, while managing production and coordination across vendors and various trades. Starting with initial concept through final styling, we provide a genuinely full service by managing the complexities behind the scenes in order to keep the process straightforward and enjoyable for our clients - Ultimately providing a home that is move-in ready.
Our vision is defined by rich textures, inviting color, and a well chosen blending of vintage and new, brought to life through custom furniture, sculptural elements, and refined lighting. All accomplished while keeping an eye on costs and providing projects affordable to all of our clients.
Van Markel - Principle Designer
With twenty years of experience in both New York and Los Angeles, Van has a passion for design and architecture with a comprehensive understanding of the custom design and construction process, from gut renovations to ground-up builds.
He is dedicated to forming mutually collaborative relationships and respecting the clients' individual aesthetic, while offering his own attention to detail.
He works with each client to create livable, well-tailored environments with his signature warm minimalism that feels relaxed and effortless.
Now based in New York City, Van brings over two decades of experience to his work, with projects spanning New York City, the Hamptons, Upstate NY and Florida
We offer interior design from conception to completion, encompassing a full range of projects, from straightforward decorating and furnishing to full-home remodels, gut renovations, and ground-up builds.
All while providing interior design expertise to people who may feel that such services are beyond their financial reach.
